Ddolbeng Baseball
Baseball with your friends — time it right and it is a home run
Play now
The ball comes, you press once. That is the whole game. Hit it well and a friend runs the bases; when they reach home you have a run. All twenty friends are on the first screen and none of them is locked.
How you play
- Pick four friends. Any four of the twenty, and none of them is locked.
- You bat first. Tap the screen the moment the ball reaches the plate.
- Dead on is a home run; a little early or late is a double or a hit. A friend who runs all the way home is one run.
- After three outs you pitch. Choose a slow ball, a fast ball or a bouncy one.
- After three innings the higher score wins. A tie goes to One Big Swing - one hit each, and the ball that travels further wins.
For grown-ups
- There is a score. This game has a winner and a loser. That makes it different from the rest of the village, and it is deliberate - when the screen never told a child whether they had done well, they did not start a second game.
- Losing is not punished. A lost game gets one line saying so and a button saying 'One more'. No red flash, no sad tone, no nudge to try again.
- A grown-up sets the speed. Three steps, behind a three-second hold. It starts in the middle; move it down to 'Slow' if the timing is not landing - the child is not failing, the ball is fast.
- No ads, no purchases, no account. The score book lives on this device and is never sent anywhere. 'Clear the book' empties it at any time.
What you need
A browser. A phone held upright is best, and a tablet works the same way. With sound on you get the bat and the mitt; it plays fine with sound off.
